HIGH PERFORMANCE PROGRAM

River City Futsal high performance program is the final stage of development before players join our senior playing squad. This program is designed to prepare players for senior futsal. 

 

Our High Performance Program is an academy style program where players under go talent identification through trials. The program is delivered in a highly professional environment where players are treated as elite athletes and are given the best opportunities to play high level futsal.

Our High Performance Programs focus on, but not limited to; fundamentals, attacking principles, defensive principles, set pieces, systems of play and specialised goal keeping all in line with the River City Futsal philosophy.

Regular Program Structure

​

Our regular program is delivered over a full season from July to January which is separated in terms (breaks during school holidays) and includes weekly 75 minute high intensity training. 

​

In the skills acquisition phase, the squads will be taken as whole groups with the entire coaching group and players will go through an intensive skills development cycle. This phase is tailored to player's individual development. 

​

In the game training phase, players will be coach by their individual team coach who will identify game play problems and tailor the sessions to such identified areas. In this phase, players are able to apply the skills and formations they have learnt into game related scenarios as well as different tactical and set plays.

2023 Season Structure

​

The 2023 season will kick off in mid-July with trials across 2 designated sessions. Trials for the 2023 season will be held on the following dates;

• Trial 1 - Saturday 15 July 2023

• Trial 2 - Saturday 22 July 2023

​

Trial will be held at our State-of-the-art training facility, Mansfield High Sports Centre. Trial times will be confirmed closer to the dates. 

​

The program will include High Performance Sessions (1 hour and 15 minutes on Saturday afternoons) and will include participation in the Football Queensland's State Titles (October) leading into the premier SEQ League (season October-December) and Australia's largest futsal tournament the Gold Coast International held on the Gold Coast January 2024.

Each session is overseen and closely monitored by our specialised coaching staff. This makes sure that every player is benefiting and guided to achieve their individual peak performance.
