River City Futsal Club can announce the transfer of three first-team players, Ryan Jones, Sachin Prasad and Jeremy Casemore on a short-term loan for the 2025 New Zealand Ford Futsal Super League.

The players become the first RCF players to follow our international pathway connection with WaiBOP Futsal in New Zealand’s North Island. The partnership with WaiBOP and one of their representative programs Waikato Rapids formed just shy of 12 months ago when First-Team Men’s Head Coach, Daniel Sciacca join the Hamilton based club for the final leg of the 2024 season.

During the last 12 months, regular communication between the two clubs has continued with Waikato Rapids Head Coach, Jet Lim guested coached with RCF during September 2024. While on his stint in Brisbane, Jet joined our F-League and Academy coaching staff in sessions and our Round 7 fixture away to South Brisbane. During this period, Jet identified all three players as potential players to join his side of their 2025 campaign.

On the partnership RCF head coach, Daniel Sciacca commented:

“It’s great we are able to facilitate these pathways and relationships to see three of our players remaining active during out off-season period here. To be able to support the player, not only playing continuous regular futsal, but to also be playing in one of the top leagues in our part of the world is fantastic.”

“Each of the players we have sent we are sure will leave their own stamp on the [NZ Futsal Ford] Super League. Awesome to see Ryan gaining more and more exposure after his Futsalroos debut last year, along with day 1 academy players, Sach and [Jeremy] Casemore making the step.”

The boys kick off their season with Waikato Rapids on Sunday 9 February. The full fixture list can be found here. All games are streamed LIVE & FREE on FIFA+

Ryan Jones: "Playing in NZ is an unbelievable opportunity to represent not only RCF but Australia. Being gifted the opportunity to play in such a competitive league abroad is something that many might not get to experience so it’s a privilege to be here.

New Zealand so far has been incredible the lads are nothing but welcoming and supportive, the coaching staff and club have been amazing in helping us adjust to a different style and way of life within the futsal community. Very excited for the season to start this weekend!!"

Sachin Prasad: I’m really grateful for this opportunity as i’ve always wanted to take my Futsal further, so to be able to play in another country in a men’s team is a dream. A quote from me is - Don’t be afraid to take the next step because playing in a different country is a great experience.

Jeremy Casemore: It is a great opportunity for me personally and as part of the River City family to broaden my skill set by experiencing a different coaching and playing style in the NZ competition. The team, coaches and players are very skilful and have welcomed the different points of view that we bring from our experience playing in Australia.
