River City Futsal granted licence to SCFL

Our men’s team has been granted a licence into the inaugural Southern Cross Futsal League.

Starting next Sunday, the Southern Cross Futsal League (SCFL) is an elite level Men’s futsal competition open to all clubs from all over Australia, New Zealand and the Oceania Region.

The league is run in partnership with the Federations of Australian Futsal (FAF) and provides a pathway for players, coaches and referees to develop their skills through the AMF (Association Mundial Futsal) network.

In its inauguration, the 2020 SCFL will be run in a conference base model. Each conference is a cluster of clubs from a locality, with the top two clubs progressing to the league playoffs, which will ultimately determine the Australian Champion. The conferences for the 2020 season will be Pacific (Queensland/NNSW) and Botany (NSW).

The winners of each year will then be invited to represent the Oceania region in that years European Federation Champions League Finals.

For the 2020 season, we will be coming up against Lions FC, Daisy Hill, Cairns United Predators, Eastcoast Futsal, Just Futsal, AFG Brisbane and Brisbane Central Futsal.
